Rotogravure Printing

Rotogravure printing, often referred to as gravure printing, is a high-quality, intaglio printing process used in various industries, including packaging, labels, and publication. The key features of rotogravure printing include:

Printing Process: Rotogravure printing utilizes a cylindrical printing plate with cells or recessed areas. These cells are engraved with the image to be printed. The engraved cylinder is immersed in ink, and excess ink is wiped off its surface. The remaining ink is retained in the engraved cells.

Image Quality: Rotogravure is known for its exceptional image quality. It can reproduce fine details and a wide color gamut, making it suitable for high-end packaging, magazines, and decorative materials.

Plate Type: Gravure plates are typically made of copper and are rigid and durable. They are capable of producing consistent print quality over long runs, but they can be expensive to produce.

Substrate Compatibility: Rotogravure printing can be used on various substrates, including paper, plastic, foils, and other flexible packaging materials.

Long Runs: It is well-suited for long print runs due to its high setup costs and time-consuming plate changes. This makes it cost-effective when large quantities of the same design are require
